Mumbai, September 19, 2024: The 53rd Annual General Meeting & Annual Awards Function of the Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) was held on Wednesday, 18th September, 2024 at Mumbai. The event was honoured by the presence of Mr. Sanjeev Chopra (IAS), Secretary of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Prof. Vijay Paul Sharma, Chairman of the Commission for Agriculture Costs & Prices, New Delhi as the Guest of Honours and Mr Dorab Mistry, Director, Godrej International Ltd. As the Special Guest. Over 600 delegates attended the gathering.
Following the AGM, the sessions on Agri Technology and Sustainability Chaired by Mr Rajesh Patel, Co-founder, Snowkap; Domestic Oil Seed Scenario Chaired by Mr Atul Chaturvedi, Spl. Advisor, SEA; Agri Macro Trends and Edible Oil Economy chaired by Mr Sanjeev Asthana, President (Elected 2024-25), SEA & CEO, Patanjali Foods Ltd. was conducted. The ceremony also featured the Shri Somalal Vyas Innovation Awards, recognizing exceptional work by students and researchers, sponsored by the Royal Castor Foundation. Additionally, the Shri Govindbhai Memorial Awards celebrated significant contributions to the Vegetable Oil Trade and Industry across three categories: Commodity Analyst/Trader, Electronic/Press Media and Farmer/FPO/Service.
Awards were also presented to the highest processors of oilcakes, rice bran, and minor oilseeds, as well as the top exporters of oilmeals, rice bran oil, coconut oil, and groundnut oil, and the highest producer of refined rice bran oil for the year 2023-24.
