The event was attended by renowned sportsperson Ms.Geeta Phogat, freestyle wrestler who won India's first ever gold medal in wrestling at the Commonwealth Games in 2010.
About Ekal Run
The youth wing of Ekal Abhiyan also known as Ekal Yuva each year organizes Ekal Run. The objective of organizing this marathon is to engage the youth, spread awareness and raise funds for educating and uplifting the rural children. The maiden version of this flagship event was organized in Kolkata and Bangalore in the year 2019. This marathon saw mammoth participation from running enthusiasts who ran for their chosen category of 5 km, 10 km or 21 km.
