Mumbai, January 9, 2025: The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) has today released data of movements in MF sector as of December 2024.
Highlights AMFI Mutual Fund Industry Monthly Data December 2024
➢ Mutual Fund Industry’s Net AUM stands at Rs66,93,032.12 crores for the month of December 2024. AUM for the month of November Rs 68,08,101.16 crores
➢ The AAUM for Dec 2024 is Rs 69,32,959.05 crores and for the month of Nov 2024 was Rs 68,04,913.46 crores
➢ Mutual Fund Folios are at all-time high at 22,50,03,545 as of Dec 2024
➢ Retail MF Folios (Equity + Hybrid + Solution Oriented Schemes) also at an all-time high at 17,89,93,911 for the month of Dec 2024 as compared to 17,54,84,468 for the month of Nov 2024.
➢ Retail AUM (Equity + Hybrid + Solution Oriented Schemes) stood at Rs 39,91,313 crores for Dec 2024 as compared to an AUM of Rs 39,70,220 crores in Nov 2024.
➢ 46th month of positive equity inflows, starting from March 2021.
➢ Growth/Equity Oriented schemes inflows for the month of Dec is Rs 41,155.91
➢ Number of new SIPs registered in Dec 2024 stood at 54,27,201
➢ The SIP AUM is at Rs 13,63,137.39 crores for the month of Dec 2024
➢ SIP contribution stood at Rs 26,459.49 crores in Dec 2024 as against Rs 25,319.66 crores in Nov 2024.
➢ The number of SIP accounts stood at highest ever at 10,32,02,796 in December 2024 as compared to 10,22,66,590 Nov 2024

Speaking on the December 2024 monthly data release, Mr. Venkat Chalasani, Chief Executive, AMFI, said, “Despite volatile market conditions, equity-oriented schemes continued to see strong inflows, reflecting investors’ confidence and commitment to stay invested for the long term. This behavior highlights the growing maturity of investors. The SIP contribution reached an all-time high of Rs26,459.49 crores in December 2024 reflecting investors' steadfast commitment to their financial goals. The record-breaking 22.50 crore mutual fund folios in December underscores investors’ confidence in the industry's ability to deliver long-term value despite short-term fluctuations.”
