Mumbai, January 15, 2024: Under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is developing into one of the most prestigious global platforms for business networking, knowledge sharing, and strategic partnerships for inclusive growth and sustainable development.
The 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2024, held from January 10 to 12, 2024, at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gandhinagar, hosted a dialogue on "TECHADE: Heralding India's Technological Decade."
The panel included speakers such as Dr Nandani Tandon, an entrepreneur and venture capitalist from Silicon Valley, Mr Samir Nigam, founder and CEO of PhonePe, and Mr Rajat Moona, director of IIT Gandhinagar.

In this dialogue, Vijay Shekhar Sharma, the founder and CEO of Paytm, a leading company in the digital payments space, described his experience of the digital revolution that has taken place in India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the subsequent growth of startups working in the digital space. He added, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that if you are a part of a startup, you are not a person standing at the edge but the first person standing in the corporate ecosystem. It is due to his leadership that startups have become a way of life in the last ten years. In the last ten years, India has not only become the largest internet market but has also emerged as the largest English-speaking market.”
He added “With the growing reach of the digital revolution in India, India's technology is now making waves across the world. Paytm is currently the largest mobile payment operator in Japan, operating under the name PayPay.” “We have shown Japan that India's technology can also stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Japan. The cooperation found in the startup ecosystem in India is unprecedented, and the credit for this goes to the Prime Minister.” “It is due to India's current capabilities that today we do not need to go anywhere outside; countries of the world are eager to befriend us and are joining us as partner countries. Today, India is the 'Land of Opportunities,' and the coming ten years will become the 'Great Indian Dream' for everyone.”
Punit Chandok, President of Microsoft India Pvt. Ltd., presented his valuable insights on deep tech and generative artificial intelligence. He shared his thoughts on the need for this technology and how humans will need to develop new skills in the coming years.
Chandok remarked that technology drives economic prosperity, which, in turn, determines human development. He noted that the conversation with AI is now taking place, and this conversation can help everyone move towards intelligence. He urged the audience to make full use of AI and to learn it.
While addressing the gathering, Chief Secretary of the State, Shri Raj Kumar, shed light on the various facilities being provided by the Government of Gujarat in the IT sector. The Government of Gujarat is working with a big vision in the IT sector, and for this, through the IT & ITeS Policy announced by the State Government, companies working in the IT sector are given 25% capital support. The target of the State Government is to take Gujarat to the top 5 states in the IT sector by the year 2027.
Along with this, Shri Raj Kumar also presented information about Gujarat's strong infrastructure, startup ecosystem, AI-friendly ecosystem, and decisions taken by the government for innovation.
More than 25 experts presented their experiences and dimensions of development in the field of technology, including fintech, deep tech, and cyber security. More than 2000 technocrats attended this important seminar on technology. This seminar will attract the attention of investors in the tech industry by demonstrating the state's commitment to making Gujarat a global IT investment destination and promoting innovative dimensions that will accelerate technological innovation and advancement in the country. In this context, it was unanimously accepted by everyone that there would be an increase in investment in the field of technology in Gujarat.
