Mumbai, March 15, 2024: Under the regulations outlined in the Drone Rules 2021, individuals intending to operate drones for commercial purposes, regardless of their size class (micro, small, medium, or large), are required to obtain a pilot license. As of today, there are 84 Remote Pilot Training Organizations (RPTOs) authorized by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in India. These RPTOs are responsible for conducting training and examinations according to the curriculum and methodologies set forth by the DGCA. During these training sessions, pilots receive instruction in essential Radio Telephony (RT) techniques, flight planning procedures, and regulations tailored to drone operations within their specified areas.
DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations Limited proudly celebrates its latest milestone achievement: Certification by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as a Medium class Drone Pilot Training Organization. This prestigious accreditation solidifies DroneAcharya's position as a trailblazer in the drone education sector and reinforces its commitment to excellence and innovation. With this certification, DroneAcharya joins the elite ranks of organizations authorized to conduct drone pilot training within the weight range of 25 kg to 150 kg. As an established RPTO (Remote Pilot Training Organization) for Small class drones, Droneacharya has now received unified authorization for both small and medium-sized drone pilot training. This empowers the company to expedite its training and manufacturing capacities, thereby bolstering its endeavors in advancing drones and related technologies.
This authorization is crucial for sectors such as agriculture and delivery, where drones play a pivotal role in enhancing efficiency and productivity. The Indian government actively promotes drone use in agriculture through policies like the National Drone Policy and Drone Rules 2021. Additionally, the government's Kisan Drone Scheme provides financial assistance to institutions, farmers, and entrepreneurs for adopting drones in agriculture. Aligned with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's Namo Drone Didi initiative, DroneAcharya is dedicated to empowering women in drone piloting, particularly in agricultural operations. By providing individuals with essential skills, DroneAcharya contributes to the sustainable development of rural communities and fosters economic empowerment.
"We are thrilled to receive certification as a Medium Class Drone Pilot Training Organization by DGCA," says Prateek Srivastava, Founder and Managing Director of DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations. "This achievement reflects our dedication to advancing drone education and training and underscores our commitment to driving innovation in the drone industry."
DroneAcharya currently operates three DGCA-certified drone pilot training centers located in Pune, Gandhinagar, and Ropar, with plans for expansion into Bengaluru underway. This strategic expansion enables DroneAcharya to reach a broader audience and meet the growing demand for quality drone education and training. In addition to its domestic presence, DroneAcharya has made waves internationally by conducting drone pilot training sessions in Thailand and the Philippines. This global recognition underscores DroneAcharya's expertise and leadership in drone education and training.
DroneAcharya's certification by DGCA marks a significant milestone in its journey towards excellence. By empowering individuals with the skills and knowledge to operate drones safely and responsibly, DroneAcharya is shaping the future of the drone industry both nationally and internationally.
