Mumbai, January 20: With a Rs2,300 crore agreement signed with the World Bank, we will effectively implement the skill development department’s schemes. Under the Chief Minister's Youth Action Training Scheme, 50,000 youth will be trained in the next 100 days. Additionally, Maharashtra International Centers will be operational in Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Nashik, Amravati, and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, announced Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha at a press conference.
The press conference was organized to provide information about the action being taken by the Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Department to implement its 100-day action plan.
Minister Lodha stated that the Skill Development Department and Higher and Technical Education Department will draft a comprehensive law for employment-providing institutions. Furthermore, 500 video modules of various courses under the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training will be made available online. Career guidance camps will be organized in 1,000 schools.
As part of the agreement with the World Bank, ITI institutions will be upgraded to enhance their quality. Through the State Innovation Skill Development Society, 1.1 lakh youth will receive training at ITI skill development centers. Moreover, programs will be implemented to conduct ITI and Directorate of Vocational Education examinations online, and 100 job fairs will be organized.
The 100-day action plan of the Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Department will focus on improving the department’s website, office amenities, ease of living, investment promotion, grievance redressal, and visits to regional offices to make departmental operations more efficient.
Additionally, 1,000 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed. The Skill University, in collaboration with Microsoft, will provide Artificial Intelligence training to 10,000 youth, the minister added.
