Mumbai, 26 October, 2023: Nxtra Data Limited (“Nxtra by Airtel”), a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel (Airtel), today, unveiled its inaugural sustainability report for financial year 2023, “Responsible by Choice, Sustainable by Design”. The sustainability report highlights the company’s performance on environmental, social and governance (ESG) parameters, targets and commitments as well as the progress it has made thus far.
Key highlights of report
1. Achieved a 58% increase in renewable energy use in FY23 compared to the previous fiscal year.
2. Reduced operational emissions by 5% across Scope 1 and 2 from FY21 baseline.
3. Maintained 'Zero' Incident Rate and Worst Potential Severity for two consecutive years.
4. Committed to veteran employment, with 84% of edge site infra managers being ex-servicemen.
5. Doubled female workforce, 1.5X more women in management, and 22% gender diversity at the board level.
6. Sourced 98% of procurement from Indian suppliers.
The Report has been prepared with reference to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards 2021 and outlines Nxtra's contributions towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). It is also aligned with the framework drawn up by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), thereby underscoring its ongoing commitment to addressing climate change.
