Mumbai 12 July 2024: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhad today said that Developed India @2047 is not just a target but a sacred mission. Asserting that this decade is India's decade, he appealed to " every citizen , every organization and every element of our society " to contribute more in this campaign.
Addressing the students and teachers of NMIMS i.e. Narsi Monji Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai , the Vice President highlighted the fact that as a result of positive administrative initiatives, India's business ecosystem has undergone a huge change and now India is preferred as a preferred location for investment and various opportunities.
Vice President Dhankhad likened India's political journey to the take off of a rocket and emphasized the resilience and progress the country has shown despite occasional challenges. He said that political challenges in India cannot stop India from rising in the same way that air pockets in the sky cannot change the flight path or destination of a plane. Highlighting the significant progress of the country, Vice President Dhankhad emphasized on the efforts that had to be made when starting this journey a decade ago. He said , “ Believe me , India will emerge in the next 5 years just like a rocket shoots out of gravity . "
Highlighting the presence of evil forces including nefarious groups that malign the country's progress and seek to taint the country, the Vice President appealed to the youth of the country to strongly resist negative narratives tarnishing our institutions and bright journey of development.
Speaking about the abrogation of Article 370 , the Vice President referred to the debate in Parliament in 1963 . He said that during the discussion, describing the temporary nature of the Article, the then Prime Minister had said that with time Article 370 would also be withdrawn. He thanked the members of parliament for taking decisive action to repeal Article 370 in the year 2019 .
In his speech, the Vice President highlighted the glorious history of renowned educational institutions in India namely Nalanda , Taxila , Vikramshila and Vallabhi. The Vice President emphasized that these ancient universities have made India a center of knowledge and have significantly enhanced India's diplomatic skills and shaped the direction of trade . He also highlighted the vital relevance of higher education derived from the heritage of historical centers of learning in this national development and empowerment.
Highlighting the transformative power of education, Dhankhad described education as a driving force. This power empowers individuals , fosters innovation and promotes economic growth , while also contributing significantly to social and national progress , he said.
On this occasion, the Vice President appealed to the youth to free themselves from traditional thinking and embrace the vast opportunities available today. The Vice President expressed the need to go beyond the usual emphasis on competitive examinations and explore new , unconventional opportunities emerging in various fields . Along with this , he encouraged everyone to look beyond the horizon and recognize the immense potential in emerging fields like artificial intelligence , quantum computing , green hydrogen missions.
