CM, Lodha Will Grace Start Up Event On Jan 16

Mumbai, January 10: Startups not only solve local and global challenges but also contribute significantly to job creation and economic growth in the state. With the ambitious vision of making India a leading global economy by 2047, visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared January 16 as National Startup Day. To mark this occasion, the Maharashtra State Innovation Society under the Department of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation will organize a one-day event in Mumbai on January 16.

The event, titled “Empowering Innovation, Elevating Maharashtra,” will be held on January 16, 2025, starting at 10 a.m., at the Jio World Centre in Bandra-Kurla Complex, the business and corporate hub of the city. The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and has been organized under the leadership of Minister of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Mangal Prabhat Lodha. Startup entrepreneurs from across Maharashtra and the country will participate, showcasing their innovative initiatives in diverse sectors such as technology, agriculture, services, pharmaceuticals, and tourism.

The day-long program will feature panel discussions focusing on investor requirements and success stories of young entrepreneurs. The Maharashtra State Innovation Society has invited online applications from startups to participate in the event. Within the first three days of the registration window, over 50% of the expected applications have been received. Eligible applicants will be shortlisted and invited to the program.

This event aims to strengthen the startup ecosystem in the state by bringing together entrepreneurs, youth, investors, and incubators. It will offer expert guidance, success stories, panel discussions, and a platform for startups to present their ideas at the state level. Detailed discussions and guidance on investment, collaboration, and partnerships to expand the industrial sector will also be provided. Select startups will be felicitated during the event. Startups interested in participating should visit www.msins.in to apply. The last date for application submission is January 12, 2025, stated Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha.

Maharashtra is the most industrialized state in the country and leads as a pioneer in conducting innovative experiments essential for national progress. By combining industrial growth with innovation, the Maharashtra State Innovation Society under the Department of Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation has successfully implemented several initiatives to support startup ecosystem development. These include establishing incubators, organizing grand challenges and hackathons, implementing quality testing and certification funding schemes, intellectual property rights funding schemes, and the Maharashtra Virtual Incubation Centre.
