Mumbai, June 19: Artificial Intelligence (AI) startups in Maharashtra are set to receive a major boost from global tech leader Google, opening doors to worldwide opportunities. Dr. Apoorv Chamaria, Head of Google's Venture Capital and Setup Partnership Division, met with Maharashtra’s Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Minister Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha at the Mantralaya today to discuss this collaboration.

Shri Lodha is actively working to take Maharashtra’s startups to the global stage. As part of this effort, the state is exploring partnerships with Google to create new industrial opportunities. During the meeting, Dr. Apoorv Chamaria held detailed discussions with Shri Lodha regarding these plans. Also present were Skill Department Commissioner Shri Lahuraj Mali and Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis' Officer on Special Duty, Shri Kaustubh Dhavse.

Google currently operates AI training centers in nine countries. Shri Chamaria shared plans to establish a similar center in India, aimed at nurturing high-potential startups selected through a competitive process. This would be the first such center in the country, offering global access to the new generation of entrepreneurs from Maharashtra.


Shri Lodha expressed confidence that this initiative will open global doors for the youth of Maharashtra, giving momentum to innovation-driven enterprise. He added that preliminary discussions are underway and that a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed soon. Simultaneously, Google has shown readiness to introduce advanced technology courses for ITI students in Maharashtra.
