Mumbai, March 29, 2025: The AI industry faces a well-documented gender gap—from research and funding to leadership roles. In an inspiring evening hosted by 'Indiaspora', in collaboration with members Radha Basu (iMerit Technology) and Vani Kola (Kalaari Capital), members and guests came together to explore how we can shift the narrative.

MR Rangaswami, Founder of Indiaspora, welcomed attendees and set the tone for a robust conversation. Radha and Vani drew from their deep expertise to open the session with sharp insights on the current landscape and the need for inclusive innovation.

Patrick McGovern, Board Chair of The Patrick J. McGovern Foundation (PJMF), followed with opening remarks that added depth to the conversation.

A dynamic panel featuring Bhakti Vithalani, Hema Budaraju, Kamakshi Sivaramakrishnan, and Monisha Banerjee, moderated by Ashu Garg, tackled everything from mentorship and representation to sector-wide opportunities for impact.

The evening left guests energized and committed to continuing the conversation—and the work—to close the gender gap in AI. Special thanks to Indiaspora team members Manasi Dharne, Praba Iyer, and Sarah Subin for their support and contributions to making the event a success. And a big thank you to Radha Basu for being such a gracious host!
