Mumbai, 4 October, 2024: The Freshworks STS Software Academy (FSSA) saw its 3rd batch of students (Class of ’22) graduate after their 1 year of academic education and 1 year of internship within Freshworks. The ceremony was presided over by Girish Mathrubootham, Founder and Executive Chairman, Freshworks along with Dennis Woodside, CEO, Freshworks who shared the keynote.
Of the 96 students enrolled, 90 completed the program, with 88 securing placements in various companies. These students were given the opportunity to work in an environment that closely mirrors a corporate setting functioning as squads for team collaboration. They were mentored by
young IT professionals within Freshworks, to provide an understanding of industry and work cultures. As part of their training, they completed capstone projects to demonstrate their skills, culminating in well-rounded portfolios.
The Freshworks STS Software Academy (FSSA) was founded in 2019 in honour of STS Prasadwith a vision for inclusivity. It aims to empower students to become well-rounded professionals, ready to excel in tech jobs at IT companies that value skills over certificates. It incorporates
elements from dynamically changing industry trends and the latest in technology practices to achieve synergy between learning and application.
Girish Mathrubootham said, “There have been various moments in my life where someone gave me a chance, took a bet on me, on Freshworks, on all of us and that has surely helped us reach where we are. Now we have reached a stage where we can mobilize our resources to make a much larger impact, pay it forward and take those chances on others. This is an exciting new beginning, one that will stay with them as they continue a lifetime of learning. Over the past 18 months, these young minds have embarked on an incredible journey. From interviews and classroom learning to hands-on experiences, they have demonstrated unwavering persistence and determination. As they step into the next chapter of their career, I wish them continued success. Remember, opportunities are endless when you set your mind to achieving your dreams.”
The graduation ceremony took place at Freshworks, Chennai, GLOBAL INFOCITY PARK, Tamil Nadu.
