Mumbai, January 16, 2025: “National e-Governance Division (NeGD) is developing a groundbreaking product known as Entity Locker. We have already started working on this,” said Shri Nand Kumarum , President & CEO, National e-Governance Division (NeGD), during a session at the 19th India Digital Summit (IDS) today. Elaborating on the unique features of Entity Locker he said, “You can authorize a person to register and pull 47 available documents through this. One of the key features of Entity Locker is that all documents are in your account, nobody else can see it.”

“We have given 10 GB of data space for that. The authorized representative can store it. So the structure here is that whether you are in any business, whether e-commerce or export or any business, you can come to this website, register, start pulling your documents, and share and store them. Gradually, you can build your business around it. It reduces the regulatory compliance business cost and customer acquisition,” Shri Nand Kumarum added.

"Entity Locker is set to redefine how businesses manage their documents by providing a secure and centralized platform for storage, retrieval, and sharing. This innovative solution will help companies streamline regulatory compliance and operational processes. This initiative will significantly reduce compliance costs and pave the way for a more efficient digital ecosystem," he further said.

The two-day IDS 2025 is being organized by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Supported by Digital India, Skill India and Make in India.

Speaking about the API-driven  ecosystem  Shri Nand Kumarum mentioned, “The API economy thrives on seamless data exchange. By strengthening partnerships with state and local bodies, government agencies, and various ecosystem actors, we aim to create a robust system that enhances digital connectivity, automates processes, and ensures secure data sharing across applications. Our vision is to deliver a truly digital experience where tools like DigiLocker and DigiYatra work seamlessly to simplify processes. By addressing gaps like data security during hotel check-ins and automating document exchanges, we are paving the way for a smarter, safer API-driven ecosystem.”
