FinBharat to Democratize Wealth Creation for the Next 100 Million Indians

Mumbai, 28 September, 2026: FinBharat, a new wealth-tech platform founded by seasoned wealth-tech professionals D. Ramanathan and Rakesh Kumar, is set to launch with a larger ambition: to take financial inclusion beyond access by bringing millions of first-time and underserved Indians into the fold of regulated financial products and enabling their participation in wealth creation. Having raised $500K in pre-seed capital, the company now aims to secure an additional $500K from family offices and institutional investors.
The opportunity comes as India's financial ecosystem enters a new phase. While digital infrastructure has significantly expanded access to formal financial services, awareness and participation in investment products remain uneven. SEBI's Investor Survey 2025, based on 91,950 households, found that 37% of Indian households remain unaware of even one securities-market product, with awareness varying significantly across income, education and geographic segments.
The platform will seek to reach millions of first-time, underserved under penetrated Indians and bring them into the ambit of regulated financial products, enabling them to participate in formal wealth creation. The underserved audience includes gig workers, Tier 3,4 salaried employees, homemakers, college students and other first-time investors. Despite rising aspirations, disposable incomes and digital adoption, limited financial literacy and familiarity with formal investment products often hold them back from structured wealth creation.
Speaking about the next gap in financial inclusion, D. Ramanathan, Co-Founder & CEO, FinBharat says, ”FinBharat aims to bridge this gap by combining technology and financial education with simple, affordable investment options starting at just ₹100, making wealth creation more accessible to first-time investors. Financial inclusion cannot stop at giving people an account or enabling a digital transaction. The larger social-impact opportunity is to help people build financial security and participate in the country's growing wealth economy. Technology gives us the ability to reach segments such as gig workers and first-time investors in ways that were not possible at scale earlier.”
“The next 100 million investors may not necessarily look like the investors the industry has traditionally served. They will come from different income levels, geographies and linguistic backgrounds. For instance, FinBharat seeks to bring gig workers into the formal investment ecosystem through accessible, small-ticket and technology-enabled investment journeys. If we can make formal investing affordable, understandable and relevant to these consumers, we can create a much broader base of wealth creators and, in the process, contribute to greater financial resilience across households,” said Rakesh Kumar, Co-Founder & Whole Time Director, FinBharat.
FinBharat views this expansion of financial participation as both a business opportunity and a social-impact imperative. By focusing on the bottom of the financial pyramid, the platform aims to create pathways for consumers who have historically had limited access to structured wealth products to become participants in India's long-term economic growth.
The venture's Bharat-first vision is backed by a large Institutional investor.
