Mumbai, May 2, 2025: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested accused Business Correspondent attached with Punjab National Bank (PNB), Bilsi Branch, Budaun (UP) for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 8,500/- from the complainant.

A case was registered by CBI on 30.04.2025 against accused Bank Official of Punjab National Bank (PNB), Bilsi Branch, Budaun, (UP) on allegations that accused demanded undue advantage of Rs.15,000/- from the complainant for allowing withdrawal from joint KCC Account of uncle of the complainant. After negotiation, accused agreed to accept bribe amount of Rs. 8,500/- from the complainant.  

CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 8,500/- from the complainant. During post trap proceedings, real identity of accused was revealed as Business Correspondent attached with PNB, Bilsi Branch. Later accused was arrested on 30.04.2025. 

Investigation is continuing.
