Mumbai, 23 November, 2024: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested accused tout (private person) for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 20,000/- from the complainant on behalf of accused official of Postal Department posted as Line Overseer, Sub Division– Lalganj, Lalganj Ajhara, Dist. Pratapgarh (UP).
CBI registered a case on 19.11.2024 against said accused Line Overseer, Sub Division– Lalganj, Lalganj Ajhara, Dist. Pratapgarh, UP on allegations that accused demanded undue advantage of Rs.50,000/- for facilitating smooth and error free annual inspection of Branch Post Office Nanauti, Sub P.O. Atheha, Distt. Pratapgarh, (UP) of the complainant Post Master. It was further alleged in the complaint that accused official informed the complainant that the Branch inspection would be conducted by an Inspector and share from the demanded bribe was to be paid to the said Inspector also.

The said tout was arrested on 20.11.2024 and produced before the Court of Learned Special Judge, Anti Corruption, CBI Court No.3, Lucknow.
