Mumbai, 7 December, 2024: Madhya Pradesh has taken a significant stride towards women's empowerment with the inauguration of MPT Hotel Amaltas, the first hotel in the state to be entirely operated by women. This pioneering initiative underscores the state's commitment to gender equality and economic empowerment. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav highlighted the profound role of women in Indian culture, both historically and in contemporary society. He emphasized the reverence for the divine feminine and the importance of women as pillars of family and society. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed pride in Madhya Pradesh for the launch of Hotel
Amaltas, first hotel operated by women. He emphasized, this initiative underscores the state’s
commitment to women’s empowerment. The Chief Minister believes this ground breaking model
will inspire other states to follow suit. Dr. Yadav was speaking at the inauguration of ‘MPT Amaltas’
in Pachmarhi. He highlighted the crucial role of women in Indian culture, both in mythology and
societal norms. He pointed out that even in the celestial realm, Mother Earth is revered. Similarly, in
human society, mothers and sisters are the pillars of family. He asserted India is often personified as
a motherland, invoking feelings of reverence and patriotism. The Chief Minister also emphasized
the significance of the divine feminine in Hindu mythology, noting that the names of goddesses are
often invoked before those of gods, as exemplified in pairs like Sita-Ram and Radha-Krishna.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed his happiness for this unique initiative dedicated to women's
empowerment in the lap of Satpura. He inaugurated the operation of Hotel Amaltas by pressing a
remote button. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav interacted with entire female staff working at Hotel
Amaltas, presented them with gifts as a token of appreciation, and encouraged them. Security
guard Mala Chaudhary thanked Chief Minister Dr. Yadav for his initiative of providing training and
employment opportunities to women.

Traveling from the plains of Madhya Pradesh to Pachmarhi offers an experience akin to Switzerland.
Pachmarhi definitely fills everyone's heart with joy. Sharing his experiences as the former chairman
of the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, Dr. Yadav said that due to
everyone's efforts, there has been a record increase in the number of tourists in Madhya Pradesh as
approximately 11 crore tourists have visited the state this year. Madhya Pradesh proudly boasts
diverse niches attracting all kinds of travel enthusiasts including spiritual, history buffs, heritage,
nature and wildlife aficionados. Consequently a large number of domestic and international tourists
have been attracted to Madhya Pradesh.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for increasing the wildlife
wealth of the state and choosing Madhya Pradesh for the restoration of cheetah. He told about the
recent release of two leopards into the forest in Kuno. Clearly, these are not just leopards, this is
our resolve, our courage. Presence of all the creatures of cat species found on the soil of Madhya
Pradesh is our good fortune. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh is blessed by God
with abundant natural resources and cultural richness.
Initiative to promote women empowerment - State Minister Shri Lodhi.
Tourism, Culture, Religious Trusts and Endowments Minister (Independent Charge), Shri
Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav
various efforts are being made at different levels to make our glorious state a major tourist
destination in the country. The Tourism Department has taken the initiative to operate Hotel
Amaltas entirely by women employees to promote women empowerment. 23 local women have
been trained and appointed for this. Under this, responsibilities like manager, housekeeper,
receptionist, kitchen staff, food and beverages, gardener, watchman, chef will also be handled by
women.
State Minister Shri Lodhi announced that Hotel Neelamber Sky Line has been upgraded to offer
better amenities for tourists. The hotel now features 16 luxury rooms, a high-quality dining area,
and modern bathrooms. Other improvements include an infinity pool, a beautifully landscaped
garden, ample parking, and energy-efficient systems. A special viewing point has also been added,
offering stunning panoramic views of Pachmarhi.
Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture Department and Managing Director MP Tourism Board, Shri
Sheo Shekhar Shukla said that it is fortunate that this innovation has been made in the direction of
women empowerment. Under the Safe Tourism Destination project for women, 40,000 women at
50 selected tourist destinations are being given self-defence training and 10,000 women are being
given skill training in tourism and hospitality. This will boost women's confidence and improve their
economic condition. While working in this direction of social concern, people with disabilities are
also being trained. In the near future, an initiative will be taken to operate hotels solely by
differently-abled people.
A film based on the efforts and achievements of the Safe Tourism Destination project for women
was screened during the program. A local Bundelkhandi folk dance dedicated to Goddess Durga was
also performed. Managing Director Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, Dr.
Ilayya Raja T, Collector Smt. Sonia Meena, other officials were present on this occasion.
