Mumbai, January 26, 2025: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today inaugurated the North Channel Bridge connecting the Dharamveer, Swarajyarakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Mumbai Coastal Road and the Worli-Bandra Sea Link (Sea Link). Along with the main North Channel lane of this coastal road, three other lanes were also inaugurated by Chief Minister Fadnavis today.
Dharamveer, Swarajya Rakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Mumbai Coastal Road is a high-speed corridor built at a cost of Rs13983 by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). This Coastal Road is expected to drastically reduce travel time between Worli to Nariman Point, involving 9.5 km. Usually, it takes 45 minutes to cover this much distance by road during peak hours. Now, it will be covered in just 10 minutes through travel by this Coastal Road.
Fadnavis said that the Coastal Road will save a lot of time for Mumbaikars and will also provide relief from pollution. 94% of the work of the Coastal Road project has been completed and the entire road will be open to Mumbaikars by the end of February when the work of the Prabhadevi Connector will also be completed, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Chief Minister Fadnavis also congratulated all the officers, engineers, employees of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, (also known as the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai MCGM), involved in the construction of this road, as well as the contractors of this project and all the construction workers.
