Mumbai, 5 September, 2026: Stalwarts of the global fintech ecosystem will converge at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026, scheduled to be held from 8th to 11th September 2026 at the Jio World Centre, and Trident, Mumbai. The theme of GFF 2026 is “Potential to Impact: Agentic AI | Tokenisation | Quantum: Trusted, Connected, Global Systems for Inclusive Finance.”

Mr. Rajeev Hasnah, First Deputy Governor, Bank of Mauritius
Rajeev Hasnah is the First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Mauritius, where he provides strategic leadership across monetary policy, financial stability, financial markets operations, reserves management, fintech, payment systems, digital innovation, and the Bank’s Innovation Hub. He is a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of Mauritius, Director of the Mauritius Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Chairperson of the Mauritius Investment Corporation. Mr Hasnah also chairs the National Fintech Committee, a multi-stakeholder platform comprising representatives from Government, regulatory authorities, industry and academia, dedicated to advancing Mauritius’ digital financial ecosystem and supporting innovation in financial services. Over the course of his career, Mr Hasnah has built extensive experience in central banking, economics, finance, competition policy, corporate leadership and public administration. Prior to joining the Bank of Mauritius, he held Chief Finance Officer positions in companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius. He has also served as the Deputy Executive Director and Chief Economist at the Competition Commission of Mauritius and as a Commissioner of the COMESA Competition Commission, contributing to competition policy and economic governance across the region. Mr Hasnah is a CFA Charterholder and holds an MSc in Economics and Finance from Warwick Business School, University of Warwick, and a BSc in Economics and Finance from the University of Mauritius.
Mr. Chia Der Jiun, Managing Director, Monetary Authority of Singapore

Mr Chia Der Jiun was appointed Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) on 1 January 2024. He was previously Permanent Secretary (Development) at the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). Prior to his appointment at MOM in 2020, Der Jiun had spent 18 years at MAS in a range of functions covering monetary policy implementation, reserve management, macroeconomic surveillance, and banking supervision and regulation. At the MAS, he was last Deputy Managing Director (Corporate Development) with responsibilities for risk, finance, payment system and currency operations, HR and organisation transformation. Der Jiun also served as Executive Director for Southeast Asia at the International Monetary Fund from 2011 to 2013. He holds a BA(Hons) in Politics and Economics from Oxford University and an MBA from INSEAD.
Mr. Tom Mutton, Executive Director - Payments Innovation and Fintech, Bank of England
Tom is Executive Director, Fintech and Payments Innovation at the Bank of England. Tom leads the Bank’s strategy on frontier technologies and their implications for the financial system and economy. This work focuses on artificial intelligence, distributed ledger technology, and quantum computing. Tom also leads the Bank's work on payments innovation, across retail, wholesale, and cross border payments. Tom has a breath of experience in finance, regulation, international policy, and technology strategy. His previous roles at the Bank include Director of Fintech, Head of International Policy and Strategy, Head of Division in Prudential Policy and time as a Senior Manager responsible for the supervision of major international firms. He was educated at the London School of Economics.
Dr. Innocent Matshe, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe
An immediate former Director at the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), Dr Innocent Matshe, was appointed Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) effective October 1, 2022. As Deputy Governor, Dr Matshe is also a member of RBZ Board of Directors, Human Resources Management, Monetary Policy Committee, Risk Management Compliance and Stability, Audit and Oversight committees. Dr Matshe has served on Boards of various public and private institutions across Africa and brings a vast wealth of experience to the central bank. An expert in Applied, Financial and Policy Economic Analysis, Dr. Matshe has previously held prominent positions internationally, including as a consultant for the World Bank and as Chairman of the Department of Economics, University of Zimbabwe. He joined the AERC from the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), where he was a Senior Research Specialist responsible for economic performance and development research. In the RBZ, Dr Matshe oversees Risk Management and Compliance Unit; Banking Operations and Currency Management; Economic Research, Modelling & Policy; and ICT, Innovation Hub & Fintechs Division
Dr. Kisukyabo Simwaka, Deputy Governor - Operations, Reserve Bank of Malawi
Kisu Simwaka is the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi responsible for Operations. His role includes overseeing day-to-day operations of the Bank; Managing the Bank's financial operations and budgeting; Ensuring efficient payment and settlement systems; Managing currency issuance and circulation; Providing banking services to government and financial institutions; Overseeing IT infrastructure and systems for RBM operations; and Managing procurement processes for the Bank's goods and services. Previously, he served as Deputy Governor responsible for Economics and Regulations, Director of Economic Policy and Research, and Director of Financial Markers. Kisu has published articles in journals on economic policy issues ranging from economic growth, inflation, exchange rate, and trade issues. Kisu holds a PhD in Economics from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and Masters and Bachelors degrees in Economics from the University of Malawi.
Ms. Ekaterine Galdava, Deputy Governor, National Bank of Georgia
Ekaterine Galdava has been the Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG) since November 2023. She has been a member of the Board of the National Bank of Georgia since July 2021. Her primary responsibilities encompass the oversight and management of Payment Systems. Additionally, she is responsible for safeguarding Consumer Rights. Ekaterine Galdava began her career at the NBG in 1993 as Chief Economist in the Economic and Credit Policy Department. Over the years, she has held various positions at the NBG, including Vice President and Board Member (2005-2007). She has also worked for the International Monetary Fund (IMF), both in the Resident Representative Office in Georgia and as an Economist at IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C. Her professional experience includes serving as the General Director of the United Water Supply Company and as an Advisor to the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure (2018-2021). Ekaterine Galdava graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Tbilisi State University in 1992 and earned a Master of Arts in Economics from Williams College, USA, in 2002.
Mr. Alexandre Stervinou, Director Currency and Retail Payments, Banque de France

Alexandre Stervinou is currently Director in the Cash and Retail Payments Policy and Oversight Directorate at the Banque de France, a 55+ staff directorate in charge of strategic policy, oversight and security of all types of retail payments, with a focus on fostering innovations in those fields (e.g. CBDC with the digital euro). The Directorate also has a direct responsibility on cash anti-counterfeiting matters. Prior to this, Alexandre held a Deputy Director role in the Market Infrastructures and Innovations Directorate and, between 2019 and 2021, he was a member of the Financial Stability Board (FSB) Secretariat, where he mostly dealt with innovation related matters on the G20 agenda for financial services, and more specifically on cutting-edge topics such as cross-border payments, cybersecurity, crypto-assets and stablecoins, BigTechs, cloud services, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Mr. Kenneth Gay, Chief Fintech Officer, Monetary Authority of Singapore
Kenneth heads the FinTech and Innovation Group at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). The Group is responsible for development strategies for technology and innovation, to strengthen competitiveness, manage risks and enhance the efficiency of the financial sector. Kenneth’s recent prior experience focused on digital transformation, enterprise GenAI and data governance. He previously headed the Enterprise Knowledge Department at MAS. Besides formulating data and knowledge strategies and governance policies, the department also pursues data transformation by architecting and developing platforms and applications that improve outcomes for financial supervision, central banking and other use cases. Kenneth also has experience in regulatory policy, having previously headed MAS’ Prudential Policy Department. The department develops capital and liquidity standards, including MAS’ approach on the implementation of Basel III as well as contributions to international policy forums. Prior to this, Kenneth headed the international financial relations and financial stability surveillance functions in MAS and served in MAS’ reserves management and enforcement functions. Kenneth holds a BA in Economics and MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago. He enjoys experimenting with technology at work, and as a pastime.

Irene Venter serves as the Deputy Director: National Payment Systems at the Bank of Namibia, where she leads regulatory initiatives supporting the modernisation of the National Payment System. With more than 14 years of experience spanning central banking, commercial banking, digital payments, and financial services, she has played a key role in shaping Namibia's payments landscape and advancing financial innovation across the region. Her expertise spans digital payment ecosystems, instant payments, interoperability, Open Banking, digital public infrastructure, regulatory innovation, financial inclusion, and emerging technologies. Irene has led the development of strategic policy and regulatory reforms that promote secure, resilient, and inclusive payment systems while enabling responsible innovation within the financial sector. A recognised thought leader in payments, Irene regularly speaks at regional and international forums on the future of digital finance, cross-border payments, fraud prevention, artificial intelligence in financial services, and the evolving role of regulation in fostering innovation and economic growth. She holds an MBA from the University of Liverpool and has completed executive education programs at Harvard University, the University of Oxford, and other leading international institutions. Irene is passionate about building trusted digital financial ecosystems that accelerate economic growth, deepen financial inclusion, and position Africa at the forefront of the global digital economy.

Marco Massarenti has been with the European Central Bank (ECB) since 2010, bringing over 10 years of expertise in project and programme management across market operations, IT, and market infrastructure. He has developed strong management skills, overseeing complex initiatives that drive operational efficiency and innovation. Currently, Marco is responsible for programme management of TIPS (TARGET Instant Payment Settlement) interlinking initiatives. He was previously Head of International Affairs & Human Resource Development and Advisor to the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). Mr. Singh comes from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and has held various positions in the Ministry of Finance in the Government of India, as well as handling a number of assignments for the government in the financial and other sectors. He has over 30 years of experience at senior leadership positions in different organizations dealing with strategic issues in regulation, finance and administration, and significant domestic and international experience dealing with Government and regulators.
