Mumbai, January 21, 2025: After the inauguration of the World Economic Forum in Davos last night, on the first day itself, Maharashtra, under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has today signed a record investment agreement worth Rs4,99,321 crore -Rs 4 lakh 99 thousand 321 crore (Rs4.99 Trillion-Rs4.99 Tn).
This will create about 92,235 jobs. Out of these, a single agreement worth Rs 3 lakh crore has been signed with JSW, and it has been signed in the fields of steel, renewable energy, infrastructure, cement, lithium-iron batteries, solar wafers and cell modules, etc. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his feeling that this agreement will give a big boost to the development of Maharashtra and thanked JSW's Sajjan Jindal for this. Industries Minister Uday Samant and officials were present on the occasion.
“Ease of Doing Business' in Maharashtra is very fast”
Sajjan Jindal on this occasion: “Today is a historic day for Maharashtra. It is snowing outside in Davos. But, it is hot here as investments are flowing in, he said, adding that under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the process of 'Ease of Doing Business' in Maharashtra is very fast and equally easy. There are long queues outside for investors. I told them that once you come to Maharashtra, you will never go out again.”
First Agreement
Meanwhile, the first agreement in Davos today was signed for Gadchiroli, which is not the last but the first district in the state, as Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis says. This agreement was signed with the Kalyani Group for the defense, steel, and EV sectors. The investment in this is Rs 5200 crore and 4000 jobs will be created.
MoUs Signed With These Companies
The MoUs signed today include Kalyani Group, Reliance Infrastructure, Balasore Alloy Ltd., Viraj Profiles Pvt. Ltd., AB Inbev, JSW, Wari Energy, Tembo, Elmont, Blackstone and Panchsheel Realty, Avani Power Batteries, Gensol, Bisleri International, H2 Power, ZR2, Blue Energy Motors, Issar, Book My Show, Welspun, etc. These agreements are in the fields of logistics, automobiles, steel, electronics, IT, infrastructure, entertainment, green energy, green hydrogen, etc.
FUEL's Pune Institute
One of these agreements has been signed with FUEL (Friends Union for Energizing Lives), which will train 5000 youth from Maharashtra in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Marketing and Business Analytics. They have also expressed their intention to establish FUEL Skilltech University in Pune.
