Reliance, Amazon's big contract, 15.95 lakh jobs to be created; Day 2 of Maharashtra’s Mission @ World Economic Forum 2025 Davos!

Mumbai, January 23, 2025: History has been made at the World Economic Forum in Davos, with Maharashtra under the leadership of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has signed a total of 54 MoUs worth 15.70 lakh crore investment till the second day today. This will create 15.95 lakh employment.
The major investment deal is from Reliance Group, which will invest Rs 3,05,000 crore in petrochemicals, polyester, renewable energy, bioenergy, green hydrogen, green chemicals, industrial development, retail, data centers, telecommunications, hospitality and real estate.
It is estimated that 3 lakh jobs will be created from this one contract. 3 lakh 5 thousand crore MoU has been signed with Reliance group. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that this agreement will contribute to the creation of Nav Bharat under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' dream is to make Maharashtra the first state with a $1 trillion economy, It is in this regard that we are going to make this investment, said Anant Ambani of Reliance Group.
The second major investment will be made by Amazon, which is Rs 71,795 crore. As many as 83,100 jobs will be created through this investment through data centers in MMR sector.
The MoU that was signed in the last 2 days, the investment is flowing in all parts of the state and the objective of balanced development will be achieved. Out of these total contracts, Industries Department has awarded contracts worth 11.71 crores, MMRDA has awarded 3.44 lakh crores and CIDCO has awarded contracts worth 55,200 crores.
CM Devendra Fadnavis had an insightful meeting with Il Bum Kim, Executive VP of Hyundai Motor Group. The conversation highlighted Hyundai’s focus on customizing products for India and its plans to launch Made in Maharashtra cars starting this October.
CM congratulated Hyundai’s successful IPO and welcomed the establishment of their new plant in Pune.
Mr Kim expressed a keen interest in collaborating with the Government of Maharashtra on meaningful CSR initiatives, marking another milestone in its partnership with the State.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also met DP World Chairman Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulaim and its India Project Director, CEO Rizwan Somar. Cooperation in the field of Industrial Park, Logistics etc. in Maharashtra was discussed on this occasion.
DP World focused on India’s growing role as a global trade hub and Maharashtra’s key position in shaping trade dynamics.
DP World is the second-largest container rail operator in India.
DP World reaffirmed its commitment to continued investments, highlighting India’s impressive container handling growth.
