Mumbai, 22 May 2026: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reviewed on Friday at the Sahyadri Guest House the implementation of the MoUs signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos and the status of the data centers/ integrated green data centre parks established/to be established under the state's Information Technology and Support Services Policy and Integrated Green Data Center Park Policy-2024. 

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that Maharashtra is preparing to become a data center hub in the time to come. In accordance with the agreement reached at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, land allocation, permissions and administrative procedures should be completed within a specified time frame to accelerate industrial, infrastructure, educational, data center, smart city and sustainable development related projects in the state. In accordance with the MoU in the state, 10 key officers from MIDC, Directorate of Industries and the Ministry will be given the responsibility of completing 10 projects each on time to monitor the implementation of the projects. 

Minister of State Madhuri Misal, Additional Chief Secretary of the Power Department Abha Shukla, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department Dr. P. Anbalgan, Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee, CEO of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation P. Velarasu, Managing Director of the City and Industrial Development Corporation Vijay Singhal and other senior officials concerned were present on this occasion.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed that the administration should take the initiative to complete the land allocation, environmental clearance, construction plans and various permits within the next three months, without waiting for the companies to follow up, in order to complete the project on time.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the state is also moving ahead rapidly in the data center sector and Maharashtra is moving towards becoming one of the largest data center investment hubs in the country. Currently, the data center project in the state is in the 'Investment in Progress' stage and a large amount of investment is expected from it. Along with this, the energy and water required for this data center are available in abundance in

Maharashtra. Therefore, the Chief Minister directed that more emphasis should be placed on simplifying the process and increasing the availability and distribution of space to complete this project on time and within the stipulated time frame.

Navi Mumbai is emerging as a major data centre hub in the state and major projects are being started in and around Mahape. Also, plans are underway to develop Khalapur as the third major data centre cluster. The Chief Minister said that emphasis is being placed on strengthening infrastructure in the Panvel area.

In the manufacturing sector, projects in electronics, chips, aerospace, textiles, automobile industry and defense sectors have a major share, while in the services sector, priority has been given to data center, IT-ITES, Fintech and Global Capability Center (GCC) projects.

The Chief Minister also reviewed various projects being implemented by CIDCO. Chief Minister Fadnavis directed to expedite the university project, logistics park, entertainment hub, data center and studio apartments projects in the Aerocity area.
