Mumbai, August 10, 2024: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two accused including Branch Manager, Prathma U.P. Gramin Bank, Kotkadar Branch, Bijnor, UP and his associate private person a while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.30,000/ from the complainant as 1st installment of bribe amount of Rs60,000.
A case was registered by CBI on a complaint against accused Branch Manager, Prathma U.P. Gramin Bank, Kotkadar Branch, Bijnor (U.P), on allegations that accused demanded illegal gratification of Rs. 60,000 from the complainant, in order to sanction of loan of Rs6 lakh under Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) Scheme.
CBI laid a trap and caught said accused (public servant) and his associate (private person) red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.30,000/- from the complainant (1st instalment of bribe amount of Rs.60,000/-).
Searches are being conducted at residential premises of both accused at Bijnor (UP) which led recovery of incriminating documents/articles.
The arrested accused persons will be produced before the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ghaziabad.
Investigation is continuing.
