Mumbai, 12 May 2026: CTBC Bank on Wednesday announced the opening of its new branch at GIFT City, marking another important milestone in the bank’s long-standing commitment to India and the broader Asia growth corridor. CTBC Bank is the only Taiwanese Bank with branch presence in India and the first Taiwanese Bank to establish a presence in GIFT City, Gujarat.

The new branch has been established in pursuit of serving clients In Indian subcontinent and Taiwan, while leveraging GIFT City’s position as India’s emerging international financial services hub.

Commenting on the occasion, Tanmoy Adhikari, CEO India, CTBC Bank, thanked the GIFT City authority and IFSCA on their excellent support and guidance received during the set-up process. He added that GIFT City Branch will enable the bank to serve its clients on cross-border business in a better way through greater efficiency and access to international products and services.
The inauguration ceremony also featured a traditional Lion Dance performance, symbolizing prosperity, good fortune, strength, and the ushering in of new beginnings in Asian culture. The vibrant performance reflected CTBC Bank’s cultural heritage and its optimism toward deepening economic and financial engagement with India.
