REC and UNISED Agreement signed to strengthen the education of children in Siddharthnagar, Uttar Pradesh

Mumbai, March 4, 2024: REC Ltd., a Maharatna CPSE and leading NBFC under the Ministry of Power has partnered with the Unit for Science and Educational Development (UNISAD) through its CSR arm REC Foundation to support the education of 75,500 children in Siddharthnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, REC has pledged financial assistance of Rs 9.91 crore for this work.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoA) was signed between REC Foundation and Unisaid during a ceremony held in New Delhi. The agreement was signed by Mr. Bhupesh Chandolia, CSR Head, REC Foundation and Rashmi Kumari, Assistant Program Director, UNISED.
Unisaid With its nationwide presence , it is working for the progress of education through innovative learning systems. Under this collaboration, UNISED Siddharthnagar will set up solar powered smart classrooms and laboratories in government schools of the district. The objective of this initiative is to provide students with access to modern educational tools and resources , and To empower them to excel academically and creatively.
Recently , REC Foundation contributed Rs 15 crore to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. Its objective was to support the education of 12,500 children of ex-servicemen.
