Mumbai, 20 November, 2024: REC Power Development & Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) , a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited , a Maharatna CPSU under the Ministry of Power , has handed over the project specific SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) namely Khavda V-A Power Transmission Limited of HVDC Transmission Project under TBCB route to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited at Gurugram on 19th November 2024.
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) through Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, the bidding process coordinator, for development of the transmission project on Build , Own , Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
This is the first HVDC transmission project under which award process has been completed through TBCB route and handed over to PGCIL. The scheme includes setting up of 2 HVDC terminal stations of 6000 MW each at KPS2 and Nagpur , + 800 kV HVDC Bipole line (Hexa Lapwing) from KPS2 to Nagpur (1200 km) , 6 x 1500 MVA 765/400 kV ICT at Nagpur S/S and associated works.
Shri TSC Bosch, CEO, RECPDCL handed over the SPV to Shri Pankaj Pandey, Executive Director, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. in presence of senior officials of RECPDCL , Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. and Central Transmission Utility of India Ltd. The implementation period of the project is 54 months.
