Mumbai, January 21, 2025: The IndiaAI Mission has shortlisted 20 applicants against the IndiaAI Cyberguard AI Hackathon for stage 2 floated under the IndiaAI Application Development Initiative of the IndiaAI Mission. With the aims to leverage AI to drive efficiencies in
the prevention, detection, investigation and prosecution of cybercrime, thereby enhancing citizen welfare.
IndiaAI and I4C launch strategic hackathon
IndiaAI in collaboration with I4C has announced the IndiaAI CyberGuard AI Hackathon. This strategic initiative seeks to utilize advanced technologies,particularly AI, to enhance cybersecurity and address the escalating threat of cyber fraud and crimes.
With approximately 6,000 cases reported daily through the NCRP, the hackathon aims to develop robust AI-driven solutions capable of managing and mitigating these threats.
A total of 263 submissions were received from reputed Academic Institutions, Start-ups, Research Organisations & Civil Society. A multi-stakeholder committee was created to provide technical expertise for the evaluation of the proposals, resulting in the shortlisting of shortlisted 20 applicants for the stage 2 of hackathon.

This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s vision of leveraging AI for inclusive growth. IndiaAI, an IBD (Independent Business Division) under the Digital India Corporation (DIC) of the Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), is the implementation agency of the IndiaAI Mission, which aims to democratize AI's benefits across all strata of society, bolster India’s global leadership in AI, foster technological self-reliance, and ensure ethical and responsible use of AI.
