Shah Will Be Chief Guest At Coop Event At NESCO

Mumbai, January 22, 2025: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest at an event titled “Challenges and the Way Forward for Cooperative Banks and Credit Societies” to be held on 24th January 2025 at NESCO, Goregaon, Mumbai. As 2025 is celebrated as International Year of Cooperatives 2025, the Union Ministry of Cooperation, the Maharashtra Cooperation Department, and NUCFDC are jointly organizing this event.

As far as business data is concerned, Maharashtra with 427 urban cooperative banks, have total business of over Rs 2.27 trillion at the end of 31st March 2024.

The new office of NUCFDC at Andheri will be inaugurated by Amit Shah in the presence of NUCFDC Chairman Jyotindra Mehta and others.

The event will take in presence of Union Minister of State for Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Ministers, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and important stakeholders from the cooperative sector. The program will be a forum for discussing the future of cooperative banking and credit societies in Maharashtra as well as across India.

The representatives of cooperative banks and credit societies, policymakers, other will attend this event. Discussions at the event are expected to lead to creation of measures and solutions to solve the challenges of the cooperative banking and credit societies.
