CBI laid a trap and caught accused red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000/- from the complainant

Mumbai, May 17, 2025: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested accused Officer of Central Bank of India, Bangra Bazar Branch, District- Deoria (UP) for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs15,000 from the complainant, as per a press release issued by the CBI.

A case was registered by CBI on 09.05.2025 against said accused on allegations that accused demanded undue advantage of Rs20,000/- from the complainant to allow withdrawal from the sanctioned MUDRA loan of Rs5 lakh, which was applied by brother of complaint for his firm.

CBI laid a trap and caught accused red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000/- from the complainant. Later, accused was arrested and will be produced before the Court of Learned Special Judge, Anti Corruption, CBI Court No. 4, Lucknow.

Investigation is continuing.
