Mumbai, March 30, 2025: "We see that farmers are happier in the districts where the network of District Cooperative Banks is functioning efficiently. At the same time, it is evident to us that the agricultural industry has taken a good shape in these districts. Considering this in mind, in order to economically strengthen the farmers of Nagpur district, the responsibility of the founding administration of the District Cooperative Bank will be handed over to the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank from today, and the path of progress of the farmers will be broader, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed his belief.
He was speaking at the appointment ceremony of the founder administrator of the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank at Nagpur District Central Cooperative Bank. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Revenue Minister and Guardian Minister Chandshekhar Bawankule, Minister of State for Cooperation Dr. Pankaj Bhoyar, Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Agriculture and Relief and Rehabilitation Adv. Ashish Jaiswal, MLA Ashish Deshmukh, MLA Charan Singh Thakur, Cooperation Commissioner Deepak Taware, Administrator Vidyadhar Anaskar and other dignitaries were present at this special ceremony organized at the auditorium of Nagpur District Central Cooperative Bank on the occasion of Gudi Padwa.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said that he is confident that the Nagpur District Cooperative Bank will become financially profitable in the next one and a half years with the Cooperative Commissionerate playing a befitting role in this. We are doing this first experiment considering the request made by MLA Ashish Deshmukh regarding the post of administrator.
This is a unique gift given by the Chief Minister to the farmers of Nagpur district on the occasion of Gudi Padwa. Nagpur District Cooperative Bank has now got a powerful addition in the form of Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari asserted that this bank will become profitable in the next two years and the network of cooperatives in the district will become stronger. MLA Ashish Deshmukh appealed to everyone to open fixed deposits in the District Cooperative Bank and take advantage of attractive schemes.
Administrator Vidyadhar Anaskar gave the introduction. "The apex banks, district banks and various executive institutions are the backbone of the rural economy. This year, the state bank has crossed the milestone of Rs 52,000 crore in turnover and the bank has earned a profit of more than Rs 650 crore, "Anaskar said.
